Halloween Reading

13 Tales cover KindleHey, all, proud to present my latest release 13 TALES TO GIVE YOU NIGHT TERRORS. This is a horror anthology with authors from England, Scotland and America. Stories range from 1000 words to 6000. I have two stories included in the collection.

We’ve had our first review on Goodreads 5 stars: “I absolutely loved these although they did not actually give me night terrors (And I did make a point to read them at night, in the dark). I also loved that in the last story they added various trinkets from all of the preceding stories.”

In Waiting For The Wolf, a college student is stalked by a costumed street performer.

In Blackened Fireworks, paranoia seizes a party hardy teen.

I also may have edited the whole thing with Joshua Winning. So kinda proud there, too!

You get the FREE ebook right now at Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, Nook and the iStore.

And because Amazon hasn’t updated their files, you can also get the ebook over there for a whopping 99 cents.

Sylvanville Spirits lowered price

Hi all. I did some tweaking on the paperback version of The Sylvanville Spirits. Basically I adjusted the spacing (or leading for those in the biz), which resulted in a more professional look and less pages. Good news, since there’s less paper used to print it, I’m passing the savings on to you.

Control Room released

The Control Room, my 12,000 horror story is now available as an ebook!

Control Room 333x500

The Locked Door Series is MuseItUp Publishing’s version of the Twilight Zone. Each short story stands alone, is written by a different author, and is meant to make you keep the lights on when you go to bed. In this story, recent college graduate Bethany finds herself living back at home and facing a mountain of school loans.

To make ends meet, Bethany accepts a job watching live footage from a supposedly haunted building. The owner wants them to find evidence of the ghost he believes killed his daughter decades before.

As the days progress and Bethany spends more time watching the residents of the apartment, she finds herself drawn deeper into the history of the building and the lives of its people.

When strange occurrences begin stacking up, Bethany suspects something paranormal may be happening in the old apartment building after all. Can she distance herself in time, or has the watcher already fallen under the apartment’s spell?

Available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, the iTunes bookstore, Smashwords, MuseItUp Publishing, and lots more.

Check out my Chucky book

I’ve mentioned a few times on here that I was working on another non-fiction book, and I published it today. I’m very happy to share with you Examination of Chucky: An Unauthorized Dissection of the Child’s Play Series.

ChuckyKindleCover

Blurb: In this unauthorized collection of film theory essays, author Troy H. Gardner closely examines the history of pop culture icon Chucky the killer doll.

With a look at all six films in the series, as well as drawing from the horror genre as a whole, Gardner explores such topics as character studies of Andy Barclay and Tiffany, the psychology of Chucky’s family, and how each film’s opening is constructed.

This is the perfect book for any Chucky lover, horror enthusiast, or slasher fan.

The ebook is available now at Amazon and Smashwords, and coming soon to Barnes & Noble and other major retailers. The paperback version should be on Amazon in a few days. There’s already a page for it up on Goodreads, and at my personal site TroyHGardner.com.

This was a lot of fun to write and gave me an excuse to rewatch these great movies.  As a warning, this covers the latest film, Curse of Chucky, which is a triumphant return to the franchise’s horror roots and should be watched before reading this.

The Control Room pre-order

My upcoming horror ebook The Control Room is now available for pre-order at MuseItUp Publishing’s newly revamped bookstore. Check it out here. If you pre-order, you won’t have to remember when it’s released (Oct. 11) and you save 50 cents. Pretty good deal.

A note on the bookstore: because of confusion with customers having multiple devices, if you buy any of their ebooks, you get access to the file in all platform types. So no one will accidentally buy it as a kindle if they want it on their iPad and then have to buy it again.

Cheaper Sleepaway Camp ebook

Good news for those of you who haven’t purchased the ebook edition of Examining Sleepaway Camp: An Unauthorized Dissection of the Cult Horror Series yet. It’s now available at the low price of $2.99.

Check it out at Amazon.

This fun collection is perfect for any Sleepaway Camp fan, film theorist, or horror lover.
