Children’s Book Released

SecretPrincessKindlecoverA little while ago *cough18monthscough* my nieces asked me to write them a book. And then they patiently waited. Or they brought it up every time they could. Well, I finally released The Secret Princess on Kindle and in paperback through Amazon. This is a fun, 100 page book about a girl in a fantasy kingdom who must play golf to save her family’s farm. It’s roughly a third grade reading level, or perfect for parents to read to their kids.

Blurb: Welcome to the land of Gigglygoo, a mostly peaceful kingdom ruled by a kind king and queen. Besides its silly name, the biggest problem in Gigglygoo is the evil wizard.

To escape the wizard’s curse, Princess Haley, still a baby, is snuck out of Gigglygoo by her uncle. On the trip, her uncle is turned into a monkey. When they reach their destination, Haley is found by a farmer and his wife.

Haley grows up on the farm without any idea of who she really is. But secrets can’t stay hidden forever. How will Haley’s life change when her real identity is revealed?

You can find The Secret Princess now in paperback or Kindle edition here at Amazon.com.

Control Room released

The Control Room, my 12,000 horror story is now available as an ebook!

Control Room 333x500

The Locked Door Series is MuseItUp Publishing’s version of the Twilight Zone. Each short story stands alone, is written by a different author, and is meant to make you keep the lights on when you go to bed. In this story, recent college graduate Bethany finds herself living back at home and facing a mountain of school loans.

To make ends meet, Bethany accepts a job watching live footage from a supposedly haunted building. The owner wants them to find evidence of the ghost he believes killed his daughter decades before.

As the days progress and Bethany spends more time watching the residents of the apartment, she finds herself drawn deeper into the history of the building and the lives of its people.

When strange occurrences begin stacking up, Bethany suspects something paranormal may be happening in the old apartment building after all. Can she distance herself in time, or has the watcher already fallen under the apartment’s spell?

Available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, the iTunes bookstore, Smashwords, MuseItUp Publishing, and lots more.

Check out my Chucky book

I’ve mentioned a few times on here that I was working on another non-fiction book, and I published it today. I’m very happy to share with you Examination of Chucky: An Unauthorized Dissection of the Child’s Play Series.

ChuckyKindleCover

Blurb: In this unauthorized collection of film theory essays, author Troy H. Gardner closely examines the history of pop culture icon Chucky the killer doll.

With a look at all six films in the series, as well as drawing from the horror genre as a whole, Gardner explores such topics as character studies of Andy Barclay and Tiffany, the psychology of Chucky’s family, and how each film’s opening is constructed.

This is the perfect book for any Chucky lover, horror enthusiast, or slasher fan.

The ebook is available now at Amazon and Smashwords, and coming soon to Barnes & Noble and other major retailers. The paperback version should be on Amazon in a few days. There’s already a page for it up on Goodreads, and at my personal site TroyHGardner.com.

This was a lot of fun to write and gave me an excuse to rewatch these great movies.  As a warning, this covers the latest film, Curse of Chucky, which is a triumphant return to the franchise’s horror roots and should be watched before reading this.
